These terms cover the use of bernardburch.com. The site is published by Bernard Joseph & Co., Paris, France.
What the site is
bernardburch.com presents my relocation services in Paris and my writing. Nothing on it is a binding offer. Any work I do for you is set out in a written quote or contract, and that document governs the work, not this page.
The writing is general information
The Journal and the service pages describe how things work in Paris as I’ve seen them and as they stood when I wrote them. French rules change often. Nothing here is legal, tax, immigration or financial advice. For your own situation, ask me directly or a qualified professional.
Content and copyright
Everything on this site (text, photographs, images, layout) belongs to Bernard Burch unless stated otherwise. You’re welcome to link to any page and to quote a short passage with a link back. Anything more needs my written permission.
Text and data mining, including AI training
Under article L.122-5-3 of the French Intellectual Property Code and article 4 of Directive (EU) 2019/790, the publisher expressly reserves all rights to text and data mining of this site’s content, including for training artificial-intelligence systems. This reservation is also expressed in machine-readable form (TDMRep). Search engines and AI tools that fetch a page to answer someone’s question and link back to it are welcome.
Links to other sites
I link to other sites when they’re useful. I don’t control them and I’m not responsible for what they publish.
Liability
I take care to keep the site accurate and available, but I can’t promise it will always be either. To the extent French law allows, I’m not liable for losses that come from using the site or relying on what it says.
Your data
How I handle personal data is on the privacy page.
Law
These terms are governed by French law. If you live in the EU as a consumer, you keep the protections of the law where you live.
